My Nikon P90 Coolpix

I have owned a Nikon P90 Coolpix since my last Digital Camera died!

I started this blog to talk about my Nikon P90 Coolpix to show how it performs and talk about the things I like and dislike about it (contributions welcome from other P90 owners). Think of this as my own Nikon P90 review.

I would like to think that if you’re about to buy one this might help you.

This is my first page and so I’ll add to it over time but to kick off, the features I like the most are:

The feel the size and the shape – It just sits in my hand so comfortably with the soft rubber grip and metal case it feels chunky and stable. I tried out some other digital cameras but found that they were so thin that I was struggling to press the button and found them to be too fiddly.

The Zoom – The P90 Coolpix zooms in far closer than any of the other cameras I’ve owned and when I compared it to other zoom lenses it did far better than they did.

The Continuous Shot Mode – This was the benefit that really sold it to me in the store. The P90 Coolpix has the ability to capture a frame by frame shot of whatever you’re pointing at. It’s great for action shots and sequence shots.

The Close Up Mode – The Coolpix has a setting that enables you to zoom into a subject and get a professional looking close up.

Panorama Shots - If you choose to you can take a sequence of shots that will knit together when you use the software that comes with the camera to create not only panoramic shots but full 360 images.

The major downside of my P90 Coolpix for me is shooting night shots – Most of the time I’m unhappy with how the pictures look, and I delete two thirds of the pictures I take. I  haven’t worked out what I need to do to improve this yet.
